ESTEROL SDN BHD which is owned by Kerry Group is one of the world's leading producer of food emulsifier for international distribution. Our factory is based in Shah Alam and certified with ISO 9001, ISO *4001, AIB, HACCP, Kosher and Halal facility.

History
Esterol Sdn Bhd was formed initially as a joint venture company comprising Eastman Chemicals, Quest International and a local partner, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd in 1994. The joint venture company was formed to manufacture food emulsifiers mainly for the export market. The plant was built at the Bukit Raja site in Shah Alam (formerly under Klang district) in 1995. This plant is sited in Malaysia to take advantage of the abundant good quality indigenous raw material and it's availability, namely palm oil and its products. In 1996, Eastman Chemicals decided to divest it's shareholding to Quest International and Kuala Lumpur - Kepong Bhd. ICI came into the venture in 1998 when they acquire Quest from Unilever. In May 2004, Kerry Group bought Quest International from ICI and make share of Esterol is a 50 : 50 JV between Kuala Lumpur Kepong and Kerry Group. Then in 2012, Kerry Group bought Kuala Lumpur Kepong share and make Esterol 100% under Kerry Group of company. All the products in Esterol Sdn Bhd are manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the processes are subjected to Hazards Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Esterol Sdn Bhd is certified Kosher and Halal. We are also certified with ISO 9001 : 2000 , ISO *4001 : 1997, HACCP and 5S.
Product & Services
Esterol Sdn Bhd is engaged in the production of food emulsifiers such as mono-di, distilled mono, proplylene glycol esters and acetoglycerides and uses the latest state of art technology on reaction, stripping and short path distillation processes based on the combined technological expertise of Quest International and Eastman Chemicals USA. The products manufactured at Esterol is sold worldwide. These products are used in diverse fields of application such as in bakeries, ice-cream processing, salad cream etc.
