JETAMA SDN. BHD.

Jetama Sdn Bhd ia s wholly owned company of the State Government of Sabah through Kota Kinabalu Water Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Sabah Development Berhad.

On 9th December 1992 - a 20 - year privatization cum Concession Agreement was signed between the State Government of Sabah and Jetama Sdn Bhd. The project commenced on 5th June 1993 with the takeover of water production responsibility from Jabatan Air.

Since then, Jetama Sdn Bhd has been responsible for the water production of treated water for its concession area which emcompasses Kota Kinabalu city and the nearby districts of Penampang, Papar, Tuaran and Tamparuli.

The original Concession which expired on 4th June 2013 has been subsequently extended for another 20 years up to year 2033.

JETAMA's main function is to provide reliable water supply of good quality to consumers. In order to meet the growing demand of water, new facilities were constructed over the period 1993 to 1997 at the total cost of RM360 million ringgit.
