Jost Chemical Co. was founded in 1985 by Jerry L. Jost. Previously, Jerry had worked as a chemical engineer for several companies in various manufacturing roles.

Like most start-up companies, Jost Chemical underwent difficult times during the first few years. The company’s ability to overcome initial obstacles and to achieve its current success can be attributed, in part, to Jerry’s early decision to employ experienced chemical industry experts. Their knowledge and experience has continued to be invaluable to the growth of the company. Another factor contributing to the company’s success is that Jerry never wavered from his commitment to excellence—producing high purity specialty chemicals that meet customer requirements.
