Khatib and Alami Engineering

Consolidated Engineering Company was established in Beirut in 1959 as a general partnership by Mounir El Khatib and other partners. In March 1959 the company was registered as Consolidated Engineering Company Mounir El Khatib and Partners. In 11 March 1963, Dr. Zuheir Alami joined Mounir El Khatib as his sole partner to establish the present firm “Consolidated Engineering Company - Khatib & Alami”.

The firm started its consulting services in Lebanon, and then extended the areas of its professional activities to the Arab Countries in parallel with the growth of its experience, and its human and financial resources. By 1980 it was operating from Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kingdom of Bahrain, By 1990, the firm had expanded its areas of operations to include all the Gulf and Arab Countries.

By the year 2005, 2006 and 2007, Kuwait, Iraq, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and USA were added to the countries where we are operating, and K&A staff reached above 2500 architects engineers, technicians and administrators.

Since 1984 K&A has been continuously ranked among the top 100 International design firms as published by the Engineering News Record (ENR).

In 1979 the firm established its own computer center and cycled its engineers in a specialized training program in software development and programming as well as in the utilization of interactive programs for all its accounting and engineering calculations. All its departments are connected by terminals to the in-house central computer.

To carry out certain specialized projects, and for the purpose of continuously developing its engineers and architects by exposing them to the most advanced techniques in developed countries, the firm cooperated and entered into joint ventures with some international firms.
