GS Caltex was founded in 1967, as a 50/50 joint venture with Lucky Goldstar (later renamed LG Group, one of Korea's largest business conglomerates).vIn 2004, GS holdings was spun off from LG Group as an independent energy company. The partnership between Chevron and GS Holdings continues to this day, and GS CALTEX has become a leading global energy company in its own right. Owning the wolrds 4th largest refinery, operating a network of thousand petrol stations,
and being a major exporter of Group ii & iii base oils, GS Caltex has a deep understanding of the lubrication business.
