NIHON HANDA MANUFACTURING (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD

1910, (the 43rd years of Meiji era in Japan), Mr. Genkichi Asami, the president before last, founded his private company, ASAMI SHOHTEN, for making and selling solder at No.59, Minami-inari-cho, Shitaya-ku, Tokyo. (now No.3, 2-chome, Higashi-ueno, Taito-ku,Tokyo 130).

 

1941, following the instruction of governmental authorities, solder traders in Japan closed their private business and organized JAPAN SOLDER & TIN MANUFACTURING ASSOCIATED ALLIANCE, which became a unique enterprise of solder industry in Japan until it is dissolved in 1944. The former president of the firm was elected the chairman of the board of trustees and supervised this associated alliance until 1944. The associated alliance built common workshops in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya and Hokkaido and the manufacturing activity was performed in the common workshop each area, and Tokyo workshop became the birth place of NIHON HANDA (KOGYO) CO., LTD. starting as a private company after World War ll.

 

1944, by the change of war-time regulations, the said associated alliance was dissolved, and at the same time, NIHON HANDA (KOGYO) CO., LTD. was established and the former president took the post of the first president.

 

1965, we were approved to be an authorized factory for U.S. Federal & military specification (QQS-571 for solder, and MIL-F-*4256 for flux) by Defense Agency of the Japanese Government. This is the first acknowledgement in this business field of Japan.

 

1966, we became a recognized factory for JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) covering all item of solder and rosin core solder by the ministry of International Trade and Industry.

 

1977, a new factory was build at Narashino, Funabashi-city, Chiba prefecture, where we shifted whole manufacturing departments, expecting an expansion of manufacturing capacity, reinforcement of technical development department, and also a perfection of a prudential policy for pollution control. At the same time, we opened the Head Office and Tokyo business department at Taihei 1-chome, Sumida-ku, Tokyo. At the new factory, patented manufacturing facilities for DG-SOLDER (vacuum de-gas solder) were set up, and the production of various kinds of DG-SOLDER was opened in the mass production system.

 

1989, Japanese era name was changed to Heisei from Showa, and our name was also changed NIHON HANDA KOGYO CO., LTD. to NIHON HANDA CO., LTD.

 

1995, a new factory called Malaysian Fine Material Sdn. Bhd. was built at Penang, Malaysia to support our valuable customers in the ASEAN region.

 

1996, NIHON HANDA CO., LTD. was registered as one of ISO-9001: QUALITY SYSTEM STANDARDS (JIS Z 9901 in JIS STANDARD) registered Suppliers on the 10th of July.

 

2001, we opened a new factory for solder paste at Jiading, Shanghai, jointly with United Asia Technologies Ltd.

 

2003, the factory in Penang, Malaysia was renamed to NIHON HANDA MANUFACTURING (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. from Malaysian Fine Material Sdn. Bhd.
