About V Telecoms Berhad

V TELECOMS Berhad (VTELECOMS), incorporated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 30th August 1996, is a privately held, public company in the telecommunication industry based in Kuala Lumpur. It is a subsidiary of Vasseti Group, which is listed in the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
VTELECOMS is licensed by the government as a network telco – providing network facilities and services mainly to multi national corporations (MNCs), banking sector, large businesses, ISPs as well as government institutions. V Telecoms Berhad has the largest Nationwide Optical Metro Ethernet Network – which runs Next Generation Carrier-Class Network over fibre-optic infrastructure.

Optical Metro Ethernet (Metro-E) is the latest development/advancement in network technology; it makes network operations simpler while enhancing capacity and flexibility resulting in very competitive network services. VTELECOMS’s network spans across Peninsular Malaysia – covering all major cities and towns. The available trunk capacity is currently 320Gbps – upgradeable to 1Tbps. VTELECOMS also owns the only cross-border Metro-E link in Malaysia – giving it a competitive edge over its competitors.

In 2002, it moved into the project-based telecommunications business when it was awarded the Malacca Wireless ICT Project in 2002. Recognizing the explosive demand for bandwidth in the telecommunications industry in the country, VTELECOMS then embarked on building a state-of-the-art telecommunication network and successfully created the first nation-wide Optical Carrier-Class Metro Ethernet (Metro-E) telecommunication network. This Next Generation Metro-E Network was completed in December 2006 and services to customers commenced in March 2007.

VTELECOMS recognised Metro-E as a quantum leap in technology and went ahead to build a network with “future-proof technology” - instead of attempting to deploy bandwidth on traditional copper technology or wireless transmission as used by other service providers. In partnership with Huawei-3Com, this future-proof network was rapidly commissioned by utilizing the readily available “dark” fibres in the country. VTELECOMS’ Metro-E network, including its state-of-the-art Network Operating Centre (“NOC”) in KL Sentral, operates 24x7x365, and monitors over 300 Metro-E nodes or “POPs” (“Points of Presence”) nationwide that are linked to the NOC with redundancies to ensure a highly resilient network. In addition to these POPs in major cities and towns in Malaysia, VTELECOMS, through its partnerships with other international telecommunications operators, is connected to more than 1,000 cities worldwide.

All other related network engineering works and network maintenance services are outsourced but carefully and continuously monitored by VTELECOMS’ engineering team.

Due to the huge bandwidth capability of VTELECOMS’ Metro-E network, subscribers will be able to enjoy services such as IPTV, IP-radio, VoIP, Videoconferencing and Triple Play (i.e. Voice, Video and Data) in addition to regular internet access
