Position: Chief AccountantLocation: Phnom Penh, CambodiaJuly 5, 2007The OrganizationJoin a team of young, dynamic team of conservationists, implementing a direct protection approach to save what is left of our planet’s tropical rainforest, marine reserves and endangered wildlife.The NGO Wildlife Alliance (formerly operating as WildAid) has field programs in Southeast Asia, Russia, and marine protected areas in the Western Pacific. In Cambodia, Wildlife Alliance has been working with the Royal Government of Cambodia since 2000, assisting with the preservation of tropical rainforest,development of sustainable agriculture, and rescue and care of endangered wildlife. The organization (1) works with communities to help them develop alternative livelihoods so they no longer need to destroy forests and wildlife for survival, (2) raises awareness amongst the public to stop consumption of wildlife and (3) strengthens government agencies law enforcement capacity to stop forest clearing and landgrabbing, logging, wildlife poaching, illegal sale of timber and non-timber forest products.The position of Chief Accountant (CA) is a key position in the Cambodia organization. The CA will be partof a team of national and international managers (10 in the PP office and 6 in the field), with a totalprogram staff of 147.The PositionThe Chief Accountant (CA) will be responsible for the Cambodia country accounts, including:1. Oversee and assure financial control of the purchasing department.2. Implement all donor financial reporting, including SF 269 to USAID on a quarterly schedule (which involves consolidating expenditures from the accounting staff responsible for programcomponents).3. Manage monthly salary payments and monthly office/ field cash expenses.4. Conduct financial analysis of program expenditures to (a) detect incorrect and inappropriate use of funds, (b) identify needed activity improvements, and (c) to reallocate funds within existing budgets when needed.5. Supervise the accounting team.6. Be the focal point between the Cambodia Country Office and Washington, DC Office on accounting issues.7. Provide accounting and budgetary advice during the development of proposals and work closely with program managers to identify specific funding requirements.
